Gary K Salt
General Manager |
Gary took up his role as
WHGC General Manager on Monday 11th January 2010. He has a proven track
record in golf club management, in 2000 becoming one of the youngest
general managers in Sussex and he has since built up nearly a decade of
experience at this level achieving success in all key areas. He has
been a
scratch golfer having played on and off for more than 25 years.
Gary very quickly took over the reins and is enjoying his role. He is
looking forward to a long
and enjoyable future at West Hove. |

Graeme Crompton
PGA Head Professional |
Graeme is a Brightonian and learnt his golf at East
Brighton GC. Within 15 months of starting he turned professional, aged 16,
and 'qualified' 4 years later. He was quickly offered a position as a
teaching professional at Hollingbury Park GC and became their head coach
in 1993 and Head Pro' in 1997.
He married Louise in 1992 and they have a daughter Holly (and a Tibetan
Terrier called Barney). Graeme was appointed as the Club's
PGA Head Professional
on 22 March 2010. |

Pauline became part of the
West Hove team in March 2004.
As the Accounts Assistant to our General Manager, Pauline is responsible
amongst other things for co-ordinating the bookings for
Golf Societies, Conferences and other functions. She is also the Club's wedding reception co-ordinator. |

Russell joined West Hove in
1999.
In 2002 he won the Sussex Colts (Under 21) Championship and was the
leading qualifier in the stroke-play section of the Sussex
Amateur Championship.
He then turned pro’ and represented the Club in the
mini tours around Europe. In 2007 he started his PGA studies and has now
obtained his Level 1 and 2 coaching certificates. |

Jane Edwards

Jane joined the West Hove team
in July 2008 having previously worked as a Personnel Manager.
Along with general admin. duties, Jane is also responsible for
subscription payments, processing the men's competitions and is the
reciprocal co-ordinator for the Club. |

Ronnie Clark
PGA Assistant Professional |
Ronnie, who is the grandson of member Derek Rowland, started as a Junior
and represented the Club’s scratch teams on numerous occasions.
Ronnie decided
to turn pro’ early in 2008 and helped out at East Brighton GC. He joined
our Pro' staff in July 2008 and is now a fully qualified PGA
Professional. He does a lot of work with the very popular junior coaching sessions. |

Clay is well known to the
older Members having been an assistant professional with the Club some 20
years ago. He then became Head Pro' at West Chiltington GC and Seaford GC
before deciding in early 2007 to change tack and move into the catering
business.
He owns and runs the very successful sandwich bar 'The Upper Crust' in
Richardson Road, Hove and took over the catering franchise at West Hove in
January 2010. |

Graham has been part of West Hove Golf
Club since its
relocation in 1991 and is a warm and friendly character that you will probably
never forget.
A steady golfer off of a 9 handicap, Graham rarely fails to
feature on the podium when playing in any golf tournament.

Duncan Haste

Duncan
is yet another long serving member of our team having joined us from
another local golf club in 1999. He made an immediate impact by becoming
the SCGU “Green-keeper of the Year” in 2000. Duncan further distinguished
himself by being the student of the year at Plumpton College in 2003
whilst on a Sports Turf Management course.
Duncan heads a team of 5
excellent green-keepers and is married with 2 young children. |
